Still Waters was built by O.E. Johnson,
an executive with General Motors, in 1935. It took his brother,
a shop teacher from Lansing, Michigan, six years to complete
the custom knotty pine interior. His creative work including
shaping custom metal hinges with a theme for each of the
six bedrooms, a large fireplace in the center of the library-living
room and the barn bedroom with its own wagon as a bed and
horse harness decorating the walls.

EXPANSION
| Still Waters was
completely updated and expanded in 1984 by Carolyn and
Bill Wilkie the owners since 1977. In 1998, they further
expanded Still Waters B&B including a library, sunroom-entrance
and great room. |

or as a conference room for business planning sessions of
up to nine individuals or four couples. However, the original
themes including floor to ceiling knotty pine interior were
preserved.
LONG LAKE
Long Lake near Harrison, Michigan
is a clear spring fed lake that has three bays each separated
by an island. Each bay is 55+ feet deep with a mature forested
shoreline dotted with cottages. Since it is narrow and runs
north and south, Long Lake experiences very little rough
water making summer pontoon rides for guests relaxing.
SURROUNDING AREA
Still Waters B&B is in the middle
of hundreds of acres of State forests. Within
two miles there is the challenging Tamaracks Golf Course
and four others within 30 miles. Arnie's Craft Store, the
largest in the Midwest, is located in Houghton Lake, just
20 minutes north.
