Nestled in the north woods on the
banks of placid Long Lake, Still Waters is a distinctive
B&B experience. Still Waters was originally built by
O.E. Johnson, an executive with General Motors in Lansing,
Michigan as a 6 bedroom lodge for his extended family.

Long Lake is 15 miles south of Houghton
Lake and 7 miles northeast of Harrison, Michigan. Stocked
with bluegill, pike and bass, Long Lake has clear water
with a sand bottom beach. You will enjoy the quiet mornings
and evenings on this regulated lake. You
can take a quiet walks on the sandy roads or walk down to the lakeshore and board a luxurious
pontoon boat for a one hour evening tour of Long Lake. As
you meander and circle two wooded islands and head up a
forested canal at the end of Long Lake , evergreen and deciduous
forests surround you.
| But the lake is not
the only thing you will enjoy. You can loose yourself
in a book from an extensive library while gazing at
the lake or into the woods. The "Great Room"
has a conference table and seating for eight along with
leather sofas for group planning and brainstorming sessions.
However, on weekends it is usually occupied by scrapbookers. |

From floor to ceiling, Still Waters
B&B is finished with knotty pine elegance. Complementing
the ambience is an oral history of the original cedar Rittenhouse
Furniture that fills the six bedrooms, large kitchen, library
and great room.
